This painting was originally done for the 'Les 24 Heures Du Mans' book by Roger Labric, published in 1949.  An English gallery reprinted some of the artwork around 1970. It shows the race winning Alfa Romeo 8C 2300 LM driven by Raymond Sommer & Luigi Chinetti. The car in the pits is the #21 Aston Martin 1.5L LM driven by Bertelli & Driscoll which finished 6th. Here is a stunning bronze sculpture of the Mercedes SSKL that won the 1931 Mille Miglia at the hands of Rudolph Carraciola. Measures about 28" long (1/10 scale) on a wood base that swivels.
